Dionne Burnett: Singer/Songwriter
Singer/Songwriter Dionne Burnett spent her entire life residing in and around Austin, Texas. She and her band of brothers (The DBB: Dionne Burnett Band), bring an electric chemistry to any stage. It isn’t just a live show, it is an experience. These seasoned musicians will leave your audience smiling, humming nostalgic tunes for days, and checking their calendars for the next DBB performance.
Throughout the years, Dionne has been no stranger to Austin’s live music scene. Many fans remember her as the bass guitarist/vocalist for a local alt-country band called Burnett Jones (2006 - 2011). Back in the day, you could find Burnett Jones raising the roof in local iconic venues like Poodie’s, Mean Eyed Cat, The Broken Spoke and La Zona Rosa.
To date, Dionne has released two independent albums which are available on most of the digital platforms: “Burnett Jones Twist Off” (2007) and her latest solo EP “How I Meant to Leave em” (2023). Both albums were engineered, mixed and mastered by country music veteran Tommy Detamore at his Cherry Ridge Studio in Floresville, TX.
While her albums and original tunes are rooted in country music, the DBB live show makes a seamless transition into the rock realm, with crowd-pleasing cover tunes from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Some audience members have described Dionne’s vocal style as “sounding smooth, like butter”. People can’t help but notice the subtle influences of artists like Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and even a little hint of Janis Joplin.
The DBB packs a punch with a live show you do not want to miss!
